Farm stay

Accommodation in a private riverside cottage in Soomaa region

Farm stay

Take time to enjoy the nature of Soomaa region– our modern cottage by Pärnu River awaits you

Piesta cottage is a bright and spacious 2-storey building, designed in Nordic style, with wood-burning sauna. Perfect for one family or close friends; ideal for 2 persons, fine for 4 and the absolute maximum is 5 guests.

The cottage is located within few steps of Pärnu River and overlooks our organic orchard as well as the farm’s garden. It is distant enough from the main house to allow privacy and let you enjoy the nature.

We have designed the space in a Nordic style, hoping you will feel relaxed and cosy. The large windows let in lots of light and fresh air while mosquito nets keep out the unwanted visitors.

As to the practical details, please note the cottage does not have a full kitchen – there is a refrigerator, microwave oven and water kettle. You will also have the option of using charcoal grill outside. Our tap water is of excellent drinking quality, so no need to bring along bottled water.

What to do in and around Soomaa National Park?

The main attraction and the reason to visit our region is Soomaa National Park with its wetlands and rivers offering ample opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Soomaa is the place where to experience nature at first hand – go canoeing, walk the wetlands.

Soomaa National Park is best known for its famed fifth season when high water creates giant ice rinks on the floodplains or allows one to navigate its forests by canoe. The people of Soomaa have preserved the tradition of building and using dugout boats called haabjas – this characteristic tradition of Soomaa is listed by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage.

The wider Soomaa region surrounding the national park offers exciting discoveries. There is plenty of culture and history to explore, something for the adventurers as well as foodies.  Culture enthusiasts are invited to visit museums and churches, food lovers are welcomed by open farms and hospitable small producers, one can participate in thematic workshops and interact with animals.

The tiredness of a busy day is swept away by a relaxing sauna or wild swimming. Your hosts at Piesta Kuusikaru farm will gladly offer delicious local food and cosy accommodation.
